In these early days, when poor people were wronged, the knights were almost
the only help. This protection to tradesmen and farmers made possible the
beginnings of villages and towns outside of castle walls, 'Twas these same
Knights...(The Bartons) who in 1215 made king John of England sign the
MAGNA CHARTA -the first great milestone to FREEDOM.

THE PIONEER KNIGHTS

*The spirit of LIBERTY grew more and more- religious opression makeing it
stronger till little bands began to brave uncharted seas and move to
America. They brought with them "Knightly" ideals. In the old Mayflower
was signed the first "compact" in which men voluntarily agreed as to how
they would be governed.

"In ye name of GOD,amen...WE whose names are underwriten, the loyal
subjects of our sovern king James... by ye grace of GOD of great Britain
France,Ireland, king and defender of ye faith ect. haveing under taken for
the glory of GOD, and advancement of the Christian faith, and Honor of our
king and contry...a VOYAGE *to plant the first colony on ye northern
parts of Virginia, doe by these presents solemly and mutualy in presesce
of GOD and one another...covenant and combine ourselves togather into a
civil body politic for our better ordering and preservation."

These PIONEERS were religious and Law abideing, peaceable and industrious.
They laid the foundation for our nation. It was such men that penned the
decleration of Independence!

"We hold these truths to be self eveident; taht all men are created equal,
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights;
that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

"And for the support of this declaration.. with a firm reliance on
the the protection of divine provence, we mutualy pledge to each other,
OUR LIVES,FORTUNENS, AND OUR SACRED HONOR."
