*I just taught a Rifle saftey course, in the Church gym with BB Guns..
and we teach Muzzleloader saftey as well as *shooting at FCF Phase2!
I showed my Boys the movie "Sarg.York" recently and found it remarkible
in presenting a compelling case for abstaining from Military service
because of the commitment to duty, that might require the use of a wepon
to kill... in contradiction to the word of God.
*You should watch this movie as it is allmost like a FCF backwoods
lifestyle.. and Alvin York was changed over from a "bad dude" to the good
by a bolt of light'ning hitting him on back of his MULE! *ZAP! and
as his head cleared...there was a CHURCH!
*He gave himself over to Christ! ..and everything changed!
Others may not know... but our "fellowship" in the time before WW2 had
much more pacifistic attitudes than currently expressed...
*The time may come shortly where our youngmen might be called again to
serve... and the thought crossed my mind that we don't fully explain the
reasons for a religious objection...
(So says a Viet-Nam vet circa 1972)
That may seem off-topic.. however we *preach total astaining from other
vices such as drugs with the words: "Just say no"
How that relates to the bloodbath in Denver and Springfield is that
those boys made choices.... and a Godly man might understand if we
choose life... we may have to reject the use of Lethal force, as well as
extending the decision to choose life to the abortion question...
*Chooseing Life might mean objecting to the Death sentence for convicted
murderers!
The gun used has no conscience... my .45 colt sliped and the round that
went off hit the dirt, but might have wounded me or my son with no moral
responsibility... *I absolve the gun... and point the finger of
responsibility at the gun owner of these wepons.. for improper storage and
access to evil youngmen...
Cdr.Victor clearly might object... and honestly his views are compeling
following again another shooting tragidy.
