I'd just like to pass along an idea that I tried last night in Buckaroos
that seemed successful...

I had my Point Rider place a sheet of paper with a pencil at every chair in
the room prior to the meeting. On the white Board in the room I usually
write down what we are going to discuss in the meeting - but last night on
the white board I had written the following code:

a=1,b=2,c=3,d=4,e=5............z=26

Underneath that I wrote:  18 - 5 -1 -4 -25            6 -15 -18
       1 -14 -25 -20 -8 -9 -14 -7?

While the boys were signing in, paying their dues, and being checked off by
my Trail Boss, I explained what the code was on the board and asked them to
decipher it. Intrigued, the boys quickly started working on breaking the
code. This is a useful tool if you want to do something a little different
for Rangers who show up early. Later I told the boys what to expect next
week. They all shouted..don't TELL us write it down on the board in CODE!
