Howdy! *I put fire under my wings and began to fly last night! ------------------------------------------------------ @powerfull dinner cdr. Jen! The *ISSUE is the future of Royal Rangers and what *WE can do. We are hear, READY and hopefull willing to stand firm in the great re-invention of our ministry to American boys... We will have Challenges and choices to make! Outpost Leaders of today have to guide our direction, or we will become lost and useless to the *Boys we serve. As it stands we have a GREAT achievement program, that is little used by the very boys. I attended a recent double GMA and the numbers since 1962 are only 3,650 or so... after we claim to have "Reached Millions!" *GIVE ME A ROYAL RANGER ->A nO.1<- BREAK!! *Something is out of wack! (Button pushing time) 1.The GMA is too hard to attain 2.Leaders don't facilitate the current program 3.The status quo.. don't cut it. 4.Boys are dropping out 5.Leaders are "burning out" What to do! ---------- I'm of the opinion... for the older boys, we need to admit that shallow *achievement in the many, is a cry of the boys to fire *ADVENTURE in CAMPING! What will bring the boys is a active group of "Right thinkers and determined doers" backed by the will of Men to effect a positive change on the world. (*Wandering further onto the thin ice) THE WHOLE ORGINIZATION NEEDS TO BE TURNED UP-SIDE DOWN AND SHAKEN TO GET THE DEAD WOOD OUT! DO IT NOW..DO IT RIGHT! *Recycle-*Reuse-*Rethink! Royal Rangers as a "para-military leadership model" is wrong... for it would put National Commander "closer to God" in authority than a boy.. Top Down leadership promotes, laziness and possible rebellion... when Ideas are blocked and answers are not forthright... *Shared Leadership allows all of us to be responsible for the *Program and *Jesus to work as Master Ranger of our ministry.. *It's FOR THE BOYS! ---------------------------------- Put the BOYS at the top! *Begin to "see" that the job is to "LIFT-UP" and empower the boys to achieve NOT to build kingdoms of power.. Leaders have a job, and stand in formation in a up-side down table of Orginaiaztion that... "PRESERVES A BOYS FROM FALLING THRU A CRACK" (*I dreamed that we were lined up before a great "crack" in a mountian chain... and Evil was pulling the boys to their death unless we "stood" in the gap" *We Men stood line linebackers arm in arm to prevent distruction and preserve ourselves..." *One more "word picture"------ In napolionic warfare the soldiers line up in patrols/squads and *advance on the enemy with the great leaders in the rear! *all the heroics are with th troops! *That's where the rubber meets the road! True Leadrship MUST be local outpost based, with resources to build the boys into effective leaders... The PATROL is Important... as a "small group support system and model for leadership building opportunities" *REACH EM!- (*we have been willing to let far too many go.. for prefereing the achiever over the boy who does not advance... Is the boy in fact WRONG to freely judge the rise to Glory as too steep?) *someone is seeing that we lose 'em in year2 of Pionners.... ------------------------------------------------------------ *TEACH 'EM!- ----------- The Ranger emblem is a "Balenced program" where the points equal or are all touching the edge at the same height... NO POINT is of "more" significance tha any other... *that's a divine clue on the path to follow in teaching boys to become MEN! *along the path will come choices! *CHOOSE WISELY not based on getting the "answer Commander desires right- But getting the choice right 10,000 miles from home...to allow you to live your life with dignity and purpose and honor.. and investing wisdom into you and your future!" *Spiritual! A-men! ...however, we have Rangers that *beleve and then *lie cheat and steal!!!! *something is lacking... A balenced young man, will be "reverent... and respect the rights of others under GOD's commandments and with *Jesus as his personal savior" When he has the basics down as ETHIC... then he can judge and choose wisely. *Keep 'em for CHRIST! --------------------- Ranger leaders hold pride in "counting the number of boy's led to the Lord" at a Powwow alter.. but do NOTHING TO KEEP THEM FOR CHRIST! Do we "lead a boy to Christ.. or should we *point the way to Christ!" Be honest! *If you do not or cannot "deciple" a boy, do not rest untill you know that he is in good hands with folks that can!
