Thank's for your reply Dade,

Sorry this one's taken so long to get back to you.

To answer your question, there are currently 37 or so outposts chartered in the UK. Our National Office is at Worcester and I believe Wales 01 is still going strong. The main districts are England & Wales but there are a few outposts in Scotland now. Many of our number are gearing up to attend Eurocamp 99 in Neufrankenroda in Germany, Close to 5,000 rangers are expected.

At the beginning of May our Section, North West England held it's largest ever Sectional Camp, with over 100 rangers, We are expecting 300 plus at National Camporama 2000, this will be a themed camp. Our last one was Sectional Camp 1998, which we called Pirates on the Kings Business. Each Outpost's Camp Gateway was done in a pirate style, the kids all brought pirate costumes, the campfire stunts and songs had... yes you've guessed it a pirate theme, & each nights evening meeting was rounded of before the devotion with an act of the pageant. Which basically gave the salvation message  set to a swash buckling pirate drama. The drama concluded in magnificent style but not before all the other camping groups & organisations on the site found out what we were doing.

You see we moved the last act down to the lakeside and began constructing  2 giant rafts and supporting framework to hold the cutouts of 2 galleons in full sail and rig. We filled these with theatrical pyrotechnics. and then waited whilst after dark. The climax of the drama was a sea battle between the pirate ship 'SS Plunderer' & the King's Vessel 'HMS Victorious'. as the commanders acted out the drama on the shore, fireworks went off, and Victorious saw off the pirate threat in the name of the King. As you can imagine many of the none ranger groups allowed their children and leaders to attend. At the conclusion of our National Chaplain's Devotion he made an appeal. You know isn't it wonderful when God shows up. Not only were several rangers led to the Lord that night but also 2 young people who came just to watch the show. This year our theme is Journey into Space, a sort of Star Wars meets Voyager Meets the X-Files. but It always gets better with God so we can hardly wait.

Where do you herald from, it's hard to tell from e-mail addresses alone. Please share what God is doing in your neck of the woods. many of my kids are into the net and would be happy to hear from another outpost. it makes a great project.

Yours in his eternal love

Glad to see you on the net, we hear so few voices from the old country.  Do you have many outposts or group events in your area?  I'm a patch trader, if you ever run across anyone seeking US patches.  We visited Ken Robling and Wales#1 in the late 70's.  Don't know if we'll ever get back, but lots of fond memories!

Subject: [RR] May we Introduce our Outpost

Greetings to all Royal Rangers and Commanders in the wonderful name of our Master Ranger, The Lord Jesus Christ.

May I take this opportunity to introduce our outpost to the members of Rangernet.

We are Outpost England 51 >From Pendle Community Church in Nelson, Lancashire in Northwest England.

We have been chartered for 5 years now, but this is the first time we have had the means to go on Rangernet.

We have 5 groups - Rainbows, Straight Arrows, Buckaroos, Pioneers & Trailblazers.

Many of our children come from underpriveliged backgrounds, but praise God many of our children have made a decision for the Lord, and one family has been instrumental in bringing their Mum to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Please pray for us at the moment as our numbers are not as large as they used to be.

Our church was renovated last year, and we had to close for 6 months plus. As  a result we still have some children who have not yet returned.

Please pray that the Lord will refresh the joy and desire in their hearts that they once had for Royal Rangers.

Our prayers are that all Royal Ranger outposts are enjoying the best blessings that Jesus our Master Ranger gives.

Yours in his eternal love

Cmdr Stu Precious, England 51.
