I am the commander of the Pioneers of our Church. We use the Gold Bar
to plan all outing. (Not to say that all the commanders don't have a
lot to do with the planing.) We help the Senior Guide in making sure
that the outing is done correctly and the everyone does an equal
amount of the work. We do everything as Patrols. Cooking, Cleaning
and such.
As for Pow Wow... We have earned the highest rating for campsites for
the past 26 years as of this weekends Pow Wow. We build a sense of
pride on our boys that they are able to do it right. We would not
"fall" apart if we didn't and we always have a great time.
To my knowledge no boy has ever come home from an outing with OUR
Outpost and not had a fun time.
I agree with you some Outpost don't let the boys lead or do the
"work". Maybe those commanders need to go (back) to NTC. Keep up the
good work. It sounds like you have a great ministry in your church.
