I have tried vegimite.  Let me see if I can describe it.

First, you need to remove the oil from your car after it has run for about 
15,000 miles.  Add to that a little fresh asphalt and a pound of salt.  Stir 
well and let sit in the open air for a couple of days.

Use a knife and serve on bread or crackers with a lot of water to wash it 
down!

Seriously, I have no idea what the stuff is made of.  I think it must be an 
acquired taste.  I did not like it, but my kids did enjoy the faces I made 
after I tasted it.
