Good word from a fine Ranger leader...
Those "things" you mentioned if added would bring change in them selves,
(*adding a rescue element or paramedic theam)
But the greater question must be address in fundimental framework
to the program...
Cdr.Marriot is working hard to make the "right" changes, not those
that just we Leaders or outsiders might desire.. but the "Right Stuff"
Cdr.Ken Hunt told the NRRC the changes were to be "mandated" ...
*That concerned me as to who and what was the behind the sceans of
the "mandate"... It concerned Cdr.Rich as well as he interviewed for the
job of National Commander..
Nor Cal/Nev has done a fantastic job in developing programs and
distributing supplies and materials thru the Ranger Supply of
Sacremento... *along the way, GPH was rubbed the wrong way.
The resulting meetings back east brought the parties togather for
a resolution of differences and the betterment of Royal Rangers!
*Something about all that and the way it was handled appealed to the
exectutives... and when a re-write was called for.. We will be glad
a real Royal Ranger was called upon.
Cdr.Rich has found the Royal Rangers is right in the center of some
"sacred cows" in other departments, but also tied to the latest greatest
thinking, (*Promise keppers/Honorbound ect) So the direction is known..
..and what is left is building the framework that will take us there<G>
Just like when you take a extended trip, you have to choose what to pack
in your baggage. "Packing the Royal Rangers bags.. is being done right
now<G>"

When we pray... let the prayer be that what is *said to be true is in fact
true and that what RR does is the best remidy... the reserch and
development dept. of Royal Rangers is very small<G> Cdr.Marriot is trying
to get it right the first time... and our opinions are filtered thru
a network of responces to challenges.
We want to "slim down" not bulk up<G>
Wait and see the new direction and then test it.. not for what it lacks
but for what it can do better... *It has the heart...
But WE are the hands and arms that will make it work!
