Is it not true some folks in the Act 2:4 experience were heard to be
speaking languages that they had not learned by those who knew the language?
Logic follows that perhaps Satan can understand some, if not all... one
thing is certain,
the only thing guaranteed that Satan cannot hear is our thoughts, which is why prayerful meditation is so nice...it's just you and God alone...alone
with your thoughts. ....though Satan can plant thoughts, he cannot "hear
us" if we do or do not think upon them...

Question... Where in scripture does it plainly state that satan
cannot hear our thoughts? I have been looking in the Bible
but cant locate the words. This has stirred up some what of
a debate among some friends and I.
No place in Scripture says that. I do know one minister of the Gospel who told me of a time when a demon seemed to respond to his thoughts. It is true that demons (and Satan) can place thoughts in people's heads, and that you can find examples of in the Scriptures. I would think that if they could do that, they could listen, too. They are not omnipresent, though, so they can't catch ALL thoughts. I would imagine that the forces of darkness couldn't stand to stay around much when you meditate on the Word of God. There is too much light there for the darkness to stand.
