I have made it several times.  I have put the sawdust in the melted way then
poured it into the cartons and I have put the sawdust in the cartons and
poured the wax over it.  I have never used Kerosine and It has never failed
me YET.  Used some at our last FCF outing,  It rained all weeked and it took
the extra help to get it going.
