Being somewhat new to RangerNet, I am confused by the posts going back and
forth about the "black eye" and other not so good stuff. For the sake of
clarity and space, I did not copy the text of the messages.

For me, RangerNet is an invaluable resource as I get questions from my
leaders that I don't know the answers to, such as making char cloth (remember
that one Duane?), making firestarters out of sawdust, etc., I have posted
them here and have received answers that actually work -- and for free no
less. If RangerNet is used for the propagation of gossip and innuendo, then
I missed it entirely.

Regarding the pending changes, I am just curious as to what is going on;
hence, I post a question to discover what is going on. There is very little
communication about those changes that filters down to the Outposts. I
attend our sectional roundtables but not the district since I believe those
should be attended by the sectional commanders, it is a chain of command
thing for me. If we had an idea of the proposed changes perhaps we could
comment on them to the home office. I am responsible for compliance at a
community bank in Western PA. Whenever the regulatory agencies want to
change a regulation, they put the proposed changes out for comment, it is
called the comment period. (Remember the Know Your Customer regulation that
the public deep-sixed?). Then they evaluate the comments and act as they
deem best. Why not do that here? Send the proposed changes to the chartered
churches, allow a one month comment period then act accordingly. That may be
preferable to gossip and rumors.

Count me as grateful for RangerNet.
