I am very happy for you Russians to have six outposts in your country. I can see that God is at work in Russia.
The latest political developments in Russia trouble me so does many other world polital developments. The World Trade Organization concerns me, it does not seem to be in the best interest of labor but then as the Bible says these things too shall pass. I put my faith and trust in the Lord.
It is amazing your Outpost One in Russia and we are Outpost One in Illinois of the USA. Last summer I met some Hispanics that are Outpost One. In the US we have a Latino Royal Rangers that meet seperately from the rest of us. I think we should be all one but then in the US many Hispanic people can't speak English very well and they need to speak Spanish.
Our Outpost is in Woodstock Illinois about 50 miles Northwest of Chicago. Our sponsoring church is Woodstock Assemblies Of God. In addition to Royal Rangers we have Keepers Of The Faith for the girls and a youth group for teenagers. We also run a school. In the US it is forbidden to worship God, talk about and pray in public school. We do have many private schools and our Christian School is one of them. Our government hasn't even tried to stop faith in Christ in private schools, thank God!
I am a Commander in Pioneers which is for 9,10 and 11 year old boys. I have been a Commander for about three years. The last two years I was working with 7 and 8 year old boys, called Buckaroos.
In the Us our clubs are divided up by age groups The youngest is Straight Arrows for 5 and six year old boys. Their theme is American Indians. Straight Arrow Commanders often dress like Lakota Indian cheifs. Buckaroos is What people used to call Cowboys. In the 1800s the men that used to herd cattle were Cowboys. There is a lot of folk lore based on Cowboys and Indians. I have studied a lot about Indians and at one time Cowboys. I fit in well with this theme but I really enjoy camping more than anything else and I want to share with the boys the experiences I have had in the outdoors.
I am a member of Frontiersman Camping Fellowship (FCF) which is part of Royal Rangers. In FCF we dress up like the men that explored this continent in the last 300 years. We not only dress like them but our shelters are like they were back then and we eat the same kind of food they ate back then. Thats only a brief discription of what a frontiersman was. Most of them were hunters and trappers and traded with the Indians. The furs they would sell to the markets in Europe. The United States has a very colorful history. I started doing this frontiersman activity about five years before I started inthe Royal Rangers Ministry and I went to shows open to the public. I learned a great deal about how our ancestors lived through this and FCF has made me even more committed to serving Jesus Christ.
I would like to ask the boys in our Outpost if they would like to correspond with Your Outpost to learn more about each other. Does this sound alright with you?
If I don't hear from you by the 24th I say Merry Christmas (in Norwegian it is Gladigh Yule). How do I say it in Rusian?
