It is a Happy New Year, indeed! PTL!!

Lisa was released from ICU today, and is in a "regular" room, but still
hooked to a monitor. This monitor though is a small radio transmitter. It
gives her some freedom to turn and move about a little easier. All but one
of her IV lines have been removed. It is for antibiotics and samples for
the lab so they don't stick her so much.

She is out of critical condition, and stable, but not totally our of the
woods. Since nothing tastes good, she doesn't want to eat and is still not
eating enough. She is aware that if she doesn't eat and drink enough, that
her kidneys may not recover. She tries to get down all they want her to
consume, but it is a lot to take in. She did have a little scrambled eggs
and toast for breakfast. She said that the coffee even had a little
flavour! I had the nurses put up a no visitors sign so she could rest.
She wants to visit, and not rest.

She is having respiratory therapy to alleviate the pneumonia, and is
progressing nicely. She has been sitting up in a chair, and padding around
in her cell - (er... room) a little. She has regained a lot of strength,
yet has a long way to go.

Today may have been her last dialysis treatment, if her kidneys kick in.
Tomorrow, 1-1-2000 either way, they will not treat to see if her kidneys
will do the job. If they don't yet, they would then do another treatment
on Sunday.

I am working 10 PM to 6:30 AM the next 5 days, (be done 1-7). I'll update
with progress as needed. Please continue to pray that her kidneys will heal.

Thanks for your prayers and support!
