*Jumping in after being blissed out by a vacation in the sunshine<G>
Too many times the Sr.Commander is seen as the "Man responsible" or the
"Go-to Guy" That may be the case that a top-down organization desires..
but it play hard on the man and his family to be the only thing standing
between failure and success in Royal Rangers..
*I prefer- and held that all the adults involved were a "patrol" and
worked to build concensis of opinion for outpost decisions.
You see.. Leadership is not beyond our grasp..we can do this, and
frankly we should have beem makeing leaders instead of hanging swords
and awards on hollow Ranger boys...
Hear me.. the end result is not the GMA! It is a thinking young man...
The challenges we present him should reflect our desires, but the
"meaning" or significance is his to recieve in his heart...
I said "hollow".. because time after time Ranger boys do'nt come back.
Someone has pushed them to achieve a medal, but not encouraged them to
become leaders.
Cdr.Johnnie left in his desk a message about building bridges...
What chasum do you think he ment for us to span?

You don't need to do that when the program is working.. when things are
right.. there is plenty of leaders for a winning team.. *But people smell
disaster, and the no-shows are a vote of no confidence.
Don't overlook that in your passion... no one was ment to hold the Outpost
togather on their sholders.. It's a shared vision of the church, parents
boys and leaders..

Good planning yeilds confidence in your leadership skills and that breeds
involvement. Task management is easy when broken down into small chunks.
Just be sure to keep the planning session brief and on target, you have
family times at risk, and that is priority one.
Good Post!
Thanks,
