Take a quiet survey of your Men at church.. try to get a feel from someone
as to the their respect for the program/ministry.
*That right there is the health check.. and if it has life, breath low and
slow to build a fire. We run into politics all the time.. mostly you hear
about crisis bexause it's like looking a a passing car wreck, where
everyone slows to take a long gory look.. mayby FEAR is keeping men from
the call to serve.. Mayby they think it will cut into GOLF or couch time,
and they percieve we are backwater to other ministries..
I think we have another mission...
Our mission is to put that spark of Christian service and begin to build
bridges to "empower" leaders.. I've said that in many post to shape a new
outlook for Commanders... I want.. desire... pray... the Ranger boys to
outshine me. I want them in high-buck jobs or successful Christian men.
We give to missions... But how does a missionary become trained in
effective task management? Think about our Ranger achievements as
opportunities to train missionaries, and you might find a outstanding
selling point.
My personal opinion is that we should build character.. moral backbone
and that has to be a powerfull magnet to the pew sitters to become
involved. *Everyone needs something to belong too.. a job or task..
and Rangers provides plenty!
Don't you enjoy working with the future men of tommorrow?
If you build a house, it will age and fall down..
If you build a young man of Character, you have blessed a family..
and changed the world for the better.
