I agree that you should be concerned but please handle it with a open heart and mind. I was raised in a God fearing, church going household and like many grew up in the church and was saved at a early age. By most standards I was a good kid even through my teenage years. However, when I got away from enviroment and joined the Military I found that there was a whole other aspect of life than that that I had seen at home. After my first 6 month cruise to Europe I recieved my first Tattoo as was the "Tradition" of the Navy. I can't say that it was one of my smarter decisions but it was just that MY DECISION and I would not give anything for the memories that that tatoo brings back when I look at it. I peirced my ear after my second six month cruise to Europe once again because I wanted to and have had it ever since. I have mentioned all this because I believe that ALL things that work for good to those who love GOD. Because of my tatoo and earing I have had an opportunity to talk to other men, young men and boys and share my testamony with theam. Without these "Things" many of these discussions would have never taken place. Would I allow my son to follow in my footsteps, I can not say, however If it can between a choice of his salvation or an earing I would be down at the Jewlery store in a minite. In this day of Violence, drugs and STD's we have to choose our battles wisely. Love this young man, talk to him - not at him and look behind the earing and tatoo and find the need. Jesus talk to saints and sinners alike and we are taught to Go out and REACH, TEACH and KEEP the next generations of Men for Christ. I appologise for sounding like I'm Preaching, however I know how it feels to be "Judged" simply because of the way that I am dressed or what I choose to put in my ear or on my body.
