Hot Button, BIG WARNING

The issue of women as commanders is a hot one for sure. I personally
think that Rangers should be a uniting influence in the family, rather
that a divisive one. Last year we had a patrol of girls at JLTC. All
the usual appropriate rules were instated, but none were broken. A
good and godly time was had by all, especially the staff who got to
eat with the ladies :-)

Let's face some facts. First, the American family is a shambles and
most polls tell us that there is almost no difference between a
"Christian" family and a "secular" family. Second, American law being
what it is, women will eventually gain access to the commander jobs
in the older groups. Its just a matter of time.

Rangers can and should be a program that unites families, instead of having
the men go on Ranger functions one weekend, and the ladies go on a
Missionette event another. We all know how crowded the calendar gets.
It is even worse for those on sectional, district, regional, or national
staff. The problem is vastly amplified in smaller churches, where there
are so few people to staff the positions. Why wait any longer? Why
wait until some money-grubbing lawyer with a money-grubbing client decides
to shove the patriarchal attitude back down our throats.

Do some math.

x = number of countries that have a Ranger program
y = number of countries who forbid the ladies to hold a commander position
    in the older groups.
z = x - y.

What does z equal?

The four gold points should be, "The four ways a CHILD grows."
