*The Germans had it down good at Nat'l Camp..
Their Uniforms had an "Outdoor" feel..
This allways appeals to me. *Back when all we had for camp gear was WW2
salvage or canvas "Yucca" packs on "Trapper John" frames... we'd run into a
Camper that was pack'n a German "kettlesack" with a grey leather bottom..
While we were filled with the Heroic "ideals" found in "Sand of Iwo Jima" and
struggled to climb the trail to Nevada Falls<G> The "Euro-volks" seemed to just
*stride up the trails...
Ranger foot gear was rugged Sears Robuck workboots.. and the "Eurocamper"
had those light ruff-out anklehigh climbing shoes..
*Anyway, at Camp... the Germans all sported floppy widebrim "Cowboy" hats
that carried no shape but what you get from wear'n one in the rain<G> and cool
Neckerchief's "scout style" joined by an excellent knot of leather lace...
They also have a "spirit" about them.. that just carried me away to a special
place of joy.
I looked at their camp set-up and pictures of lashed castles! *This fired my
little
kinder feelings of building a "fort" and wanting "Father" to check out my
construction<G>
Machtiges feides und ein grobes grosses WestHowdy!
*If you've seen "Follow me boys" It's the "spirit" of what the boys built at the
lake for
a club house<G> If you don't care or understand just step inside and close the
door<G>
Heheee- criptic...
So the patch "thing" passes my muster but the vest over T-shirt don't..
...and yes *the Ranger should sew thier achievement on thier Uniform.
