Northern Missouri Section 1 held it's Pinewood Derby today. We ran 165 cars today, with a bonus Beltsander Drag race. We race against the clock each car gets 2 heats and the times are averaged to gather to get the over all fastest cars. This is the way it has been done the last umpteen years. I'm not too comfortable with this system as it causes a lot of confusion with the boys and parents. We get a lot of my son won all his heats but yet didn't win a trophy. Iv really enjoyed reading all the different ideas about the Pinewood Formats. I have 1 question though, How many of you guys use timers Vs. a lane winner indicator (e.g.. Lane brain).
