Cookie, you and I will both beable to get it first hand from the National
Commander at the SO MODistrict Commmanders Conference its on the agenda.
I will admit I am less then excited about change. Royal Rangers as it
is, has always been recognized as one of the biggest soul winners in the
AOG of new converts. I am proud to be a Royal Ranger Leader and knowing
each age group and the differences in them as they grow.
They do this at work from time to time. Change the name of the service
put a new twist on it but when it boils down to it still takes the same
thing to make it work.
What works in Royal Rangers is a dedicated body of believers whos goal is
to Reach, Teach and Keep Boys for Christ. The Holy Spirit is the one who
draws. We just need to be faithful in our part.
Change for most of us is a pain in the neck. We are creatures of habit.
I have and see it almost daily where people will do something the same
way even when you show them a new way that works better and takes less
time.... most won't change unless forced. This is done by removing the
choice of doing it the old way.
At work we have used a plastic and metal cover to shield the telephone
wires up on the high wires. Someone who doesn't put these covers on
decieded to go with a "New" cover that was statisticly better. One
problem they are a pain in the neck to put on and a pain in the neck to
work around and they take almost 3 times as much time to install. The
bottom line is less new covers are being put on but the ramifications are
very deep and won't show up untill years later. This is how it has
been though. Some changes are good some are not so good. Some changes
we have to retry again and again and again until the new guy realizes it
just won't work and they move on and we do the "new" loop again. One
thing we can always expect and that is change when a new guy takes over.
It will be interesting. What do you all say we just hang with the new
guy and see if it will work?

for Christ.
