Greetings folks -
I have had not had the opportunity to attend NTC because of my gender, but I am currently taking the BSA Scoutmaster training, (which I highly recommend for all Ranger leaders as well). I will be going on a  2 night campout this weekend with my patrol, (The Killer Bees), and will have the opportunity to be treated as if I were one of the scouts. (Which I assume is what NTC does. Since I am the only lady in the training, (the queen bee), I will have my own sleeping area
but will be expected to accomplish all of the things like training, cooking, skits and yells etc with my patrol.

I have already passed my knot tying test, and lecture courses, (1 all day course, and 1 evening course). One of the BSA District staff members is in my patrol being re-trained since BSA requires ALL staff including District staff to go through the training every 3 years for certification.

I am sharing this info for those who either do not have training available to them in their Sections, or who can not attend for other reasons. Your local BSA will have bulletins where these training occur. They are free of charge and you do not have to be a "scouter or scout member" to attend.
