Later, I taught myself how to play the harmonica. I like to listen to country and bluegrass but on the harmonica I have more of an ear for blues.
I play the jaws harp too.
I built my own Appalachian Dulcimer from a kit and took lessons on how to play it. I love the mellow tune that comes comes from it. I can't play it much anymore because, I have permanent nerve damage to my hands from bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome.
I recently built a Indian love flute and get some beautiful, American
Indian style tunes from it.
I sing base fairly well, I have an ear for traditional hymns and quartet
base parts and am still longing for opportunity to sing Christian music
in a barbershop quartet. Lord leading it will happen.
I like most kinds of music except, I don't always care for opera and
I don't like most contemporary music. WMBI usually plays contemporary christian
music and I don't always enjoy it even though it is praising the Lord.
I can enjoy a full stereo concert of Beethoven, Hayden and Mozart and love
the waltz tunes of Shubert. I even like to get exotic and listen to Holzt'
The Planets. I resent rap and right now the house is shaking because a
car is driving past with its annoying rap tunes. That driver ought to be
thankful I have the Holy Spirit restraining me from ripping his radio out
of his car.
I no longer do confrontations.
I like to play musical instruments, it is relaxing and good therapy
for the soul. Listening to music relaxes me too especially with good stereo.
I don't know how a person cansay they only enjoy one style of music.
