*July 8th 1966 I slept outdoors in my big green cotton sleeping bag with jump'n deer printed on the red flannel... It had been a long but *special night.. and I was happy to lay out under the stars of a California night among the manzinita and Pinetrees... I had met the challenge, and been tested... and I drifted off to sleep in *Love with the Men who stood guard over me just a short distance away<G> I didn't know what the morning would bring.. and when it came, the special feeling had not left<G> 30 years later- I spent another night outdoors, under the same stars for a Wilderness Vigil.. I didn't sleep that night- but prayed for the men that stood guard over me and my family in camp. I prayed for my Outpost and church, for boys that had come and left and the *missing in action.. some things change and some remain the same, and the world goes on... ...but we tend our fires, so the light will shine. -=A=-
