Why is there such attitude against the patrol Method?
First, week after week boys come without handbooks,Bible or uniform.
Parents do not show, or involve themselves in the Outpost...
Church staff only care if Commander is there, and not what is going on in
the meeting, and the "weight" falls on the Leader!
Commander tries to run Superchurch *and the Scout meeting, and in time, may
become discouraged to the quality of the experiance. Being a good "Christian"
worker you do not quit, but see it as a "mission" and press-on!
COMMANDER! *wake up!
People will think..you can do it!
They will let you do it all!
*No Safetynet!
Ask yourself...What is the PRIME Adventure?

God could have had us drift as Individuals thru *space.. but instaed put
us here on earth to live togather in the flesh! *Generations have but a
brief time to work to better each other...
We get to experiance life togather...Deal with each others attitudes and
learn from it Humility,... compassion,....LEADERRSHIP!
What is another adventure?

A boy needs to be READY for responsibiliy, and in life *DEMANDS will be made
on him in school and on the job.

One of the most effective TOOLS an Outpost Commander has is the
"PATROL SYSTEM". This proven system is being successfully used by many
outposts to meet the goals of the Royal Ranger Ministry.
When properly utilized it can provide the following:
1.Provide the leader with a vehicle to mobilize,direct and control large
groups of boys. It has a built in set of teams, for games and other
activities.
2.Provide the opportunity for Jr. leadership development (a major goal of
Royal Rangers) through the various Jr.Leadership positions. It is VERY
difficult to develop leadership...unless a boy is given a chance to lead.
3. Encourages the development of individual skills and personal
responsibility. *For example: No doubt a COMMANDER can cook a better meal
or set up a better campsight..but! How can a boy learn with his hands, if
never given the chance or responsibility?
4. Gives a boy a sence of belonging to a group within his grasp. It breakes
down the impersonal wall of a large outpost into a small-groups. Develops
friendships, as a boy is Patrol leader one day...Sr. guide the next..he has
experiance of leading small groups, before leading larger.
5.Develops "Esprit de corps" through wholesome compition with other patrols.
6. Lifts the weight off the Commander and onto the Jr.leader and spreads
the load. This will envigorate Commander to plan,prepare and coordinate.
7. The patrol system gives "ownership" of Royal Rangers to the boys and
that will develop a greater realization that the Outpost is "Our plans, Our
campout, our program ect."
