*Right there is where the boys get hung up as well..

What happened was that the "Gold Track" was designed to be self-explained
in the graphics that begin the chapter on advancement.. what needed to happen<G>

Was to have all that *explained<G>

Here goes-

*First there is three or more levels of achievement.. *You have discovered the
"standard track" that leads to a nice award in pioneers "Mt.Man/Silver Hawk"
and continues in Trailblazers.. to the "Gold Hawk"..

That was ment to be enough for the "standard achiever" or someone pressured to
finnish
a program... with honor.

*Under that "standard" is the patches in the back.. called "activity patches" to
add to a vest
and are easy to earn...a boy don't even have to partake of the standard track to
earn these.

*Above that "standard" is the "GOLD TRACK" that requires the 'standard effort
*plus suggests
doing just a little more in expectation of continueing onto the G.M.A.

National wanted to give Pioneer achievers a shot in the arm.. so they removed
the time in rank
elements and allowed Pioneers to start on the merits required for the GMA. Over
time the min.
age has been reduced to 12 years old for the GMA from 14...

(*I feel this needed better publication or promotion among the Commander core)

The boys get confused with looking back at Pioneers from Trailblazers to get
everything
out in the open for the GMA.. *If you look at the actual form from national
that you will
fill out for the boy.. it makes better sence.

*Silver Hawk- "Highest standard award in pioneers"
*Gold Star- "Indicates the Gold Track requirements have been met in Pioneers"
*Silver Buffelo- "an award beyond the requirements of the GMA"
*Gold Buff'ler- "Above the silver buff..that follows the GMA"
*Gold hawk- "Indicates the highest standard award in trailblazers"

The GMA was not listed above...and! *again.. after completeing the Pioneer
program
and recieveing the "silver hawk" a boy can begin on Trailblazer achievements at
any
age. The GMA currently requires him to be 12 years old.
