That is exactly the point, you see you never knew who might have a
firearm. That is what makes the criminal think twice before plying his
trade. Firearms are used in excess of 1 million times a year in America
to thwart crime ( most of which involve only showing that you are armed )
[ NRA magazine article citing independent studies ].
