Resistant parents??? They REALLY DO exist <g>... as far as absent parents
go, I try my best to at least make telephone contact with them, and hopefully
get myself invited over (or invite myself over)... a lot of the time, boys
are brought in by their friends, and really like the program... to deal w/ a
nonexistant parent, in my mind, is not good. At all times, send flyers home
with the boys, if there is important info. on it, make sure that the boy has
it signed by mom/dad, and keep trying to contact them... I've discovered that
when WE contact THEM, there is a greater respect for the program, and they
see that their boy is in capable hands :)
Hostile parents..another story...we've all dealt with them... just try
and remember that that Pioneer or Trailblazer or Buckaroo is not JUST a Royal
Ranger to them, but also a SON... put yourself in their shoes a sec. and try
to figure out how YOU would like any given situation taken care of if it was
YOUR son-one of GOD's greatest gifts!
Much love and care! Good luck with your new system!
