National is makeing the program easier to administer, and hopefully more *Fair! I've got lots of back-channel mail<G> "What about haveing something my son and I can do to-gather... with no women around?" *Just what is it you want to do? ------------------------------- SHOW ME WHERE RANGERS WAS MENT TO BE A FATHER-SON ONLY PROGRAM! *since 1962 it's been assumed we were "about the boys" But in fact.. the boys don't count! IT'S ABOUT BEING MEN ONLY! > I have a > great desire to be a integral part of this organization, but at times it can > be difficult with the "no, you can't do thats." Excuse me, yes I can, I am > simply not allowed to do "that" in Royal Rangers. I see that when in the "Old south" people didn't hate or become outright bigiots- ..they just wanted to be with there own kind and avoid blacks, they tried to make it fair by hanging signs of waterfountians and doorways... that way they didn't have to say anything, because in fact they just didn't care... they just agreed or prefered things the way they were... > > > I understand the possible problems of men and women working together, but the > thing is some of the criteria for being a CMDR is that they are to be a > Christian, have a strong Christian walk, and to be born again...to me that in > and of itself should eliminate most of the problems. *It's a flesh thing... and we need to *pray to overcome it. The official AoG position paper on women in ministry helped me alot.. *I had thought the reason was biblical.. that for "Holyness reasons" Men should be superior in commanding leadership and women- should submit to God's ordained transference of authority to men. What I found is that we are free from those dark days, by the revieled word of God and the posted position of our general Council that *promotes women in ministry without gender sigma. > > > I am not what one would call a "Woman's Libber." However, I think we deserved the > right to vote, manage our own property (if we want to), and equal pay. *First Thank-God you quit smokeing...<G> and re-read about how the vote came to women.. It started in Wyoming, as women became successful cattle ranchers and people of property. It's easy to look down and dominate, when you are rich and powerfull and in "control"... It's hard to discriminate when the cause is just! *But we know that "Leadership" is not about control or makeing things happen... but rather lifting spirit and giveing drive to "group" action! *So the title of "Commander" is better described by "Leader and facilitator of lifting Morale" *I think you can do that as well or better than me Kelly! > > > When one of us ladies gets called into the RR (whether by God or to rescue > our husbands from lack of Cmdrs. It's > not like in school boys against the girls, it's us against the devil and the > battle is for souls to be won for the Lord. *I agree- and for those that say go work with Missionets... I say the choice should be yours! My wife and many other Ranger women have no daughters, and prefere *their sons success as a Ranger... They want to give a hand to that effort without any stigma... -=A=- > > > Bathrooms are in the end (pardon the pun) unimportant when compared to the > eternal lives of those precious young men.
