When creating my website, I discovered a company that will give you
(absolutely free) a MUCH shorter URL than you would get when using
conventional 'FREE' site makers... I don't have the address, but it can be
found as a 15 second pop-up window if you go to my website... the address
went from being http://homestead.com/RR193/index to http://go.to/RR193
Much shorter, eh?
Also, I recommend the free (no ads) site builder www.homestead.com>>>
basically, you can have as many pages as you want, good graphics, sound, etc.
They also provide with e-mail link back to you, chat rooms, timers,
counters, etc. All this with NO ADS... can't figure out how they do it, but
have been using them for about 6 mos. and havent found a catch yet.
But the thing I really like is the company that gives you free shortened
URLs...you get to pick the name of it, and like I said, the pop-up ad for
their company shows up when you first go to my site (no, this is not an ad
for my site...well, maybe in a SMALL way it is, but what the hay?)
I think this info. could be helpful when we begin designing sites so
that the can have very similiar URLs, making it easier to find and to
navigate around them :)
