I agree, God is leading us into greener pastures. The new program will
allow us to reach boys who are turned off by the camping theme, will allow
men who have been turned off by the camping, outdoors theme to work in
Rangers, but will keep the camping and outdoors option for those of us who
love it. I agree with Kevin. Do whatever it takes to win boys.
Basketball, camping, computers, bowling, "extreme" sports, whatever. We've
got to start thinking outside the confines of the traditional program and
reach people like Jesus did - where they are. So what if it distracts from
the outdoor events? The purpose of Rangers is to "Reach, Teach, and Keep" -
there's nothing there about camping. Let's don't get so caught up in the
methods that we forget the purpose!

By the way - we still have Sunday night Church in Phenix City, Alabama.
Come join us!

Subject: [RR] Indoor-outdoor-who cares

Anyone who thinks that indoor activities are not conducive to a program
like Rangers is really going to hate Rangers long about March-September
2002. It is what our leaders have decided and there is nothing we are going
to do about it. Camping-outdoor activities will be a much smaller part of
the whole scheme of things. It is time we started changing our thinking
because "the times-they are a changin'!" I'm having a hard time finding an
A/G church that still has services on Sunday nights! What is this world
coming to?!
I think God is leading us into Greener pastures. We are sheep. Sheep
destroy the grass because they eat it down to the root. So the shepherd has
to take them to another pasture. I don't like it but I'm going! How about
you?
