*I've sometimes ran a video on an outdoor subject like raft'n or
rock climbing when they arrive, but lately we try to hold some
advancement and record keeping at the start to get us out the door
early.
If you can start a group doing something.. the boys run over to
check it out. One item that worked real good<G> was a dying squirrel
that I found in the drive way on the way to Rangers! Heheee...
I've tried play'n the banjo and guitar to create a musical "interlude"
to transition the boys into a theam<G> (flight of the led zeplin<G>)
But the boys have a natural tendency to chase and scrap...and ignore
almost everything. Things got better for me when I 'hired' Sr.
Guide to ride herd and hassle patrol leaders for their meeting plans..
(That never came<G>) and when they showed some "tuck head"
or "leadership guilt"....
He would issue a manilla envelope that held some patrol "plans"
"secret documents et." that Commander had cooked up between
post's to Rangernet<G>
