Yes. Those were real email viruses. They use a fake extension trick to make the
programs look like harmless files. I've asked those guys to clean their systems.
Since this particular virus forges mail from the victims, those two guys didn't know
they were sending the virus out.
Don't open email attachments unless you know what they are in advance, and verify with
the sender that they intended to send them. It wouldn't hurt to update your antivirus
software, if you have some.
