Lot's of fellers have expressed concern back channel over some
of the "attitudes" expressed on Rangernet, and the tangents we
go off on<G>
We got one now with possibly 'second guessing behavior at NRRC.
I'm resigned to go with the flow, and *Love it or Leave it<G>
Here's why-
My entire life has had Royal Ranger personalities and material in
my home, yet I have never been to Springfield, Mo! Like many
of you... this has brought a "personal ownership" yet it also was
made very clear by the Founder that the *program was not just
for me, but rather -for me to give away... *to those that follow!
I have tried to follow that advice...
Because God has gifted and blessed us with Rangernet... I've had
access like never before to Ranger buddies accross the country and
around the world! Many of the lingering questions in my mind as to
Ranger history, events and personalities have been availible right
here on Rangernet<G> *Praise the Lord!
In 1994 when Rangernet started, I called Cdr. Ken Hunt and had
an excellent chat. I explained what "Rangernet was.. and what it could
become" ...and his challenge was that we should begin a conversation,
but leave *policy and *decision makeing to USA National Staff.
This makes a lot of sence. USA Royal Rangers is owned by the Assemblies
of God
church. *Rangernet is not.
*Shortly following the 'conversation... Rangernet was 'discovered by
Cdr.Victor Zalakos who is now the NSW Aust. State Commander.
His arrivial and that of "Larrikin" and Commander Cody of Canada as well
Sir Brian of England and other Rangers around the world, had us expand
the fellowship international.<G> The conversation continued, and many
came, and many stayed for a time and left.
Our first Cyberpowow was exciteing, and I personaly mailed many of the
patches to amazeing places on the globe! Shri Lanka! Berlin! Russia!
Around the Earth, Royal Rangers has differing policies and *program
structure. I have become fond of some of these differences, comming
to know how they might make a good USA program better!
*One of the irritants to random conversation on Rangernet is that
embraceing or commenting on these ideas, sometimes raises the hackles
of those with "USA only" mentality. *Of that, I admit... <G>
However, *Ideas may or may not have merit, but are
brought forward in the hope of improvement to the overall ministry.
A good thing to remember- when reading, as well as posting to Rangernet
might be keeping the subject material related to the life of a Royal
Ranger
and to any aspect of the Ranger Code.
*Thoughts?
