*I think in the last year I've had it as balanced as ever..
I've been forced to join the "Dad" patrol<G>
I do know when I had it OUT of balance, and regretibly it
was when I was acting as Sr.Commander and considered along
with Cdr.Jen the "family" holding Royal Rangers togather!
We felt.. Time suck, stressed, pressured and ripped off
even while haveing great blessings and joy in our work..
We tried very hard to recruit from the church a OP council and
garner support, and for a time did have it togather, with a
very loyal group of Ranger leaders. *But in a church setting,
it is critical to participate, even beyond your attendence
at services in other non-RRanger activities.
What I now see is that our view of RR as a prime "ministry"
moved us into a nitch.. a "qlique" that seperated us from
the main stream of the church. I knew.. this, but felt it
was important to push in a political way for Rangers..
I had hoped somehow to replace myself.. withdraw to the OP
council and still leave a vibrant Outpost! *NOT!
*Here's my personal "stated" priority list.
1.God- you must be right with the man upstairs!
2.Family- As a Christian and a Father/Husband nothing
is of greater concern than my loved ones happiness
3. Job- *I must put food, shelter,and re-cycled Levis
over $100 Vans off the walls shoes on my family<G>
I must make the payment on the Toyota 4-Runner as well<G>
I hit the Country Buffet, and after Tithes and offerings,
try to invest for retirement<G>
4. Royal Rangers-
How to balance it all?

TEAM!
Look for "empty" hands and put them to work.
To be a leader- you must share the load.. not *carry
the load! *Shake off those heavy bands, lift up those
Holy Hands and *Praise the Lord!
*Good Post!
Thanks....
