Hobby Lobby has an extenxive candle making supply area. You might check
there first.

At FCF Family Camp they have a candle making session where they young
children, ages 5 and up, can make candles. They have a few pots of water
boiling over propane flames. In the water are bottles or cans of melted,
colored wax. They used small jars, such as pickle jars. Small cans such
as vegetable cans can also be used. They give the children a section of
candle wick about 6 inches long and tie one end around a pencil. They then
instruct them to form a line and dip the wick in turn in any color they
choose. They are then to walk in a large circle away from the candle pots
to allow the wax time to cool, all the while pulling on both ends of the
wick so that the wick/wax combo cools straight. The circle makes it's way
back to the melted wax where they dip again and repeat the circular walk
until they have made their candle.

The children get to leave with a candle, and learn how many frontier
families made their own candles without molds.

Subject: [RR] Candle making

Hey guys -
I need some help locating a good company for bulk candle amking supplies or
any other ideas you have of what I could use. I chose candle making fo my
FCF trade. I know how to do it and have done it on a small scale. However
my District FCF President wants me to do it on a large scale for district
pow-wow's so that the boys can get involved in the process. Please help.
I
need help ASAP. Pow-wow is in July but I need to be familiar with the
stuff.
Thanks. :)
