You make a good point. I think you missed my point though. If what we do as Christians causes offense to our brother or sister Christians then the Bible tells us not to do it.
 
So if a Christian is flying a flag that causes offense to fellow Christians then their response should be to not fly it. See Paul's response to the Corinthians in I Cor. 8 & 10
 
As for those in the world I hope I am an offense to them. From the standpoint that Jesus shines through me.

ANYTHING can be used to make a political statement.  Maybe we need to ban
rainbows from the sky because the homosexuals use them as one of their
symbols...
