1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1 [KJV]
23.  All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all
things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
24.  Let no man seek his own, but every man another's [wealth].
25.  Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, [that] eat, asking no question for
conscience sake:
26.  For the earth [is] the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.
27.  If any of them that believe not bid you [to a feast], and ye be disposed
to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience
sake.
28.  But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols,
eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth
[is] the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:
29.  Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my
liberty judged of another [man's] conscience?
30.  For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for
which I give thanks?
31.  Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the
glory of God.
32.  Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the
church of God:
33.  Even as I please all [men] in all [things], not seeking mine own profit,
but the [profit] of many, that they may be saved.
11:1.  Be ye followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ.

Paul simply said that we should simply do what we do in order to be
with God.  We should not do things that will intentionally wreck our image.
Don't go out drinking with your friends, or stealing street signs or the
thousands of other things that are
subject to tarnish the worlds view of your walk with God.

"Everything is permissable, but not everything is beneficial."

These are the same words that Pual used in dealing with sexual
immorality.  I think what he is saying by using that same exact phrase twice
is that neither sin is so much greater then the other.  That we have to
prepare ourselves to be the light on the hill in everything we do.
Another thing we should realise is that most questions we can ask
about today can be easily answered.  If you add what the Bible says to common
sense you get most answers.  "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might
not sin against thee." [Psalms 119:11 KJV].  And if knowing his word, and his
perfect will, you still don't know the answer, then pray.  If prayer does not
bring an answer then do not do it.  Better safe then sorry.  Paul said that
the rules were made for the weak, but that the strong give homage to those
laws so that the weak will not stumble.  "Do not conform any longer to the
pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then
you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing
and perfect will." [Romans 12:2]

"Anthem Part II" [edited for your protection]

Everything has fallen to pieces
Earth is dying, help me Jesus
We need guidance we've been misled
Young and hostile but not stupid

 .  .  .  .  .

We really need to see this through
We never wanted to be abused
We'll never give up, it's no use
If we're [messed] up, you're to blame
