Hi All, This is something that I have been wondering about for a long time. We have our Independence Day, we celebrate it on July 4th but what holidays do they have in other countries? Do other countries have a similar holiday that they celebrate on a different day? What are and when are the special holidays in other countries. I know our Independence Day can be a sticking point with the British, but for the most part they have been very accepting of it of late. What are the national holidays called and what is done to observe them? Anything special that the whole country would do a little something for?
Our major holidays are : 12-25 Christmas is always on 12-25 Easter- the date fluctuates and is never on the same date consecutively. 7-4 National Independence Day Memorial Day last weekend of May Labor Day first weekend of September New Year's Eve/day and the rest are minor ones that have the option to be observed or not.
