Dave I tried that but they still came up.  I only had one pop up today.  I right clicked in that window while I was in IE and clicked on block pop ups from this site.  This Ghost Surf program I bought yesterday seems so far to have cured my POP UP NIGHTMARE! !!! speaking softly and carry a big software blocker.  This program has a lot of neat features and I will look it over some more.  It is simular to Zone Alarm Pro but better in my opinion as it is more invisible and user friendly.  It says since I installed it it has blocked 32 adds and 128 cookies and it cached 128 images which makes page loads faster.   Mark Jones   On Mon, 2 Aug 2004 20:13:49 -0400 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: Pop-ups….   Are you guys talking about the glitzy color graphic advertisements that might include sound that pop-up when you are on a web page, or are you talking about the text messages that pop-up even if you close down internet explorer (as long as you’re still connected)?   If the former, the applications you’ve been mentioning should solve the problem.  If the problem is the latter, here’s how to end them once and for all….   (I use windows xp.  Instructions may vary for other operating systems) 1. Go to Control Panel 2.  Double-click “administrative tools” 3.  Double-click the “Services” shortcut 4.  Scroll down the provided list of aps till you find “Messenger”.  (you may have to widen the window to see all the colums) 5. Right-click Messenger and then click “Properties” 6.  Under the “General” tab, down about the center of the window, you’ll find “Startup type:”.  Open the box to the right of it and select “disabled”. 7.
