This is one you can borrow from the Boy Scouts. The GMA has all of the advantages that Eagle Scout has, plus you can add in the foundation of faith and Christian teaching. I don't know about getting in to college, but after college, it looks great on a resume. Of course, people have to find out what it is all about.
They say the purpose of a resume isn't to get you a job, but to get an interview. Then the interview gets you the job. When a prospective employer sees "Royal Ranger Gold Medal of Achievement" on a resume, he thinks, "What in tarnation is that?" So, he schedules an interview, just to get that question answered, if nothing else. The answer he gets can be impressive. I have looked over the GMA requirements and I like the changes that have been made. In a couple of weeks a few new boys will be promoted up and we will have Ranger open-house. I hope to present the GMA to these new boys and their parents in such a way that both will motivated to reach for it. Among my questions are: what have many of you used to promote the GMA? Are there materials from GPH or other sources? One thing I thought of was to say that having the GMA would look very good on applications for college scholarships, but is there any evidence for that?
