Tapping energy from a volcano might actually work for a while. We might be able to draw off so much heat that the surface doesn't become molten. That would require a lot of piping and turbines and electric power lines, though. ...Might cover a good part of western Oregon with all the plumbing.
If we could draw off enough energy, we could make a solid plug that was cool to a thousand feet deep. That might stave off an eruption for a while, at least the lava floe type. Then, if it really needed to let go, it would have to blow up again. -DP -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mike Burke Sent: Sunday, October 17, 2004 9:12 PM To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [RR] Who needs fossil fuel when we have a Geo-thermal gold mine! Yeah, well just invest in baked beans and you will have all the natural gas you need! LOL! Iron Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kahunapule Michael P.
