Sunai and all you other young bucks,

Personally, I enjoyed both Star Trek and Star Wars. Please remember that
Star Trek was originally developed in the 60's when the modern technology of
today's cinema wasn't even envisioned. The true treckies followed the
series so closely that Gene Rodenberry received tons of letters every time
the writers made a mistake-- like having the Enterprise reach a planet at a
Stardate that was impossible by normal warp travel. They had little to work
with and still kept their appeal for several decades. As evidence, there
are still numerous conventions every year-- not bad for a 40 y/o series.
The movies, then, had to keep some consistency with the original or be
laughed at by all the fans. If you're really crazy, take a look at the
original series and think about the sociological issues it confronted.

If you want to see some even stranger writing (and technologically older
cinementography), look up the old Dr. Who series that the BBC put out. If
you are familiar with that series, you're either too old to admit it or a
true sci-fi fan.

Ultimate Star Wars Geek, I am!
Saw it TWICE today.
9:00 AM & 3:30 PM
Stood in line for one and a half hours for the 9:00 AM & two hours for
the 3:30 PM.
Awesome movie - just wish there was more Wookiees

Star Trek sucks - a "tri"corder that does actually everything, but never
needs to be programed or button pushed for it to do whatever - me thinks
not
Try coming up with some technology and gizmos

May the SITH be with You!!!
