The only big problem I see with that is the problem with the intense
sun/heat that is present in some of these sectional/district/regional/ and
national campouts/activities.

I remember when I went to the last Camporama...boy was that a lot of sun. I
came back home cooked!

Not to mention this recent incident with the BSA with the heat exhaustion.

So once again that would be the ONLY problem I can think of

I had originally thought that the Germans were not that "big" on the uniform
issue as I was lead to believe that there were still some unresolved
feelings about them left from WWII. Granted, the uniforms that they had
back then were really sharp in appearance , the issues were not how they
looked so much but who was wearing them. I was under the understanding that
the Germans don't like to discuss uniforms that much because of unresolved
feelings about uniforms in general.

Now as for a field uniform, Does not the RR leadership tell us that the
uniform is not to be worn on campouts? I never liked the idea much because
the uniform can serve for quick identification purposes. I think that there
should be an actual "field uniform for RR's and that they should be a
requirement at campouts. Again identification purposes. A commander or
person from another outpost can tell about a boy at a glance by seeing which
ratings he has achieved and to which outpost he belongs to by looking at the
numerals and District strip. Would that not help a younger boy at a
District, Regional pow-wow or the Camporama? Personally, I'd call it
convenient. A military uniform would have identification on it even if it is
on BDU's . Though we are not set to be a paramilitary operation, it's not to
say that we couldn't take a cue from them.
