Prayer, training, build relationships, ask men to come help at events. This is a age old problem and a Sr. Commander is always in recruitment mode. A good way to get men and women into rangers is hold a Sunday school class Leaders Training Academy. Ask your Area commander for help.

At one time I had 24 leaders on staff. I had 7 outpost council. Each one was gifted in certain areas and that is where they did their best. We have all kinds of outlines but be Lead by The Holy Ghost and he will point you to people who can help. Approach them one on one. Don't over burden them. A little at a time. Many hands make a burden lighter.

I think two of the best things we did from the pulpit. I had a little hoop tent it was a play tent for kids. I dressed my 4 year old son up in a kaki uniform.... It was big on him...but he looked great. I had him sitting on the front row and called him up to the platform and I said Marshall show these folks how we like to camp.... he tossed the hoop tent up into the air and it went poof setup in the air and floated to the ground. People still talk about it.... It inspired their hearts.

Another is when a Ranger Kid repeated the 23 psalm from memory on the platform.

I started with Prayer and will tell you Sunday morning during prayer time. Pray for your church, RR Staff, boys and for God to send you leaders. Sunday school class ask others to pray with your for God to send you leaders.

One thing I learned. You can't judge a book by it's cover. God will send you all kinds of people. Some won't look like much and you may very well right them off as not RR material...but just you wait and see.... God has a plan and he can take that ole piece of rough coal and turn him or her into a diamond of a Royal Ranger leader. Some of the people that looked like a diamond at first were great. Given a little time what was in their heart showed through that cover. Listen to the Holy Ghost. He will direct you.

One thing about Royal Rangers. Show me a commander who has years in Royal Rangers and I can show you a Man of God that loves people and is willing to be used by God.

Don't get discouraged. God has a plan just listen to him.

This has never happened to me before. Luke 17:1 I was awakened this morning with this scripture rolling repeatedly on my mind. I didn't even know what it said. I just read it a few minutes ago. (Please pray for me and my family) I do know with God's help I will do my best.... and trust him as He loves me and you.

Subject: [RR] RR/ Advice on Leadership Publicity

Hello all,

After having a conversation with my pastor regarding the Royal Rangers ministry I reminded him of the great need we have for leaders, whether it be as commanders or helpers. I explained to my pastor that I was quite frustrated because, although, there are plenty of men capable to do the job that is required, some are either too busy with church duties or with secular matters, some are just plain not interested in working with children. Well, my pastor, so kindly return the ball to my court by saying that I should go up to the pulpit and present the need to the church and wait for a response. Having done that in the past, I know how little effect this can have on the men of our congregation.I still have to do it out of obedience for my pastor, but I would like to be as effective as possible.

I would appreciate any suggestions you guys can give me about effective presentations which goal is to attract potential leaders to the RR ministry. I am looking for advice from people who are deeply involved in this ministry and are experienced in these matters.

I also have a situation that I need advice on but I would rather not post it here. However, I would like to know if any of you commanders who are now senior commanders - those who formerly were, and hopefully still are, outpost commanders. Unless we're talking about a mega-outpost, I can't see a senior commander not being involved in one ranger group. Anyway.if you answered my initial question and feel up to the second question, please let me know that you are interested in doing this.

God bless you all. In service to God and Rangers,

 Manuel Henao
 DR/AR Outpost Commander
