Read in the proper context, it's not talking about war. It's talking about personal revenge.
God has used war throughout the ages as part of his plan. Armageddon would not be on the list of things to do otherwise. On the other hand, MANY have gone to war in God's name, or under "God's direction" but were totally false intentions fed by greed, power and corruption. The Crusades come to mind... I'm not saying that any of the wars and "police actions" of the 20th century were fully and completely handled correctly. The A-Bomb and it's predecessors should have never leapt from theory to practice. on the Other hand, Hitler and the like should have never been allowed to come to power either. but they did, and the world had no choice but to respond, for fear of being overcome by the dis-ease they were spreading, since all of those tyrants have been proven to speak with forked tongues. These terrorists have forked tongues in some cases, and in other cases, are straight-set on the destruction of the west. no logic, just passion for something they've been brainwashed into thinking by radicals. They're an abhorition of what even Muhammad had in mind. (see http://www.lifeapp.org/islam) The bottom line is that God is a jealous God, and when he's provoked, he WILL allow. nay, ORDER war. There is a time for peace and a time for war. or at least, so says the Bible. but obviously it's God's call, not any one man. Keep in mind though, BUSH did not take us into this. Bush, with Congress behind him RESPONDED to what happened. IMHO, Bush's predecessor spent more time dealing with personal enemies than dealing with enemies that could harm the United States. Whether congressmen & women want to back-peddle on their votes now is irrelevant. It's like us saying that we wish we'd gotten saved EARLIER. it is what it is. We must learn from history, learn from the Word of God. and we must teach our Boys & Girls that God loves them. He loves them so much that he sent His Son to a world infested by idiots. er. sinners. that didn't know what they had when they had it. and in some cases. still don't. There will be wars and rumors of war. (and wars started by rumors, no doubt).. IMHO, If we truly ARE in the END TIMES, Sadaam had to be deposed to allow someone to set up PEACEFUL shop in Babylon. it may have been a premature attempt on politician's parts to speed that along; or, it may have been part of God's plan. or it could be a simple it may be just a blunderous attempt by powers that be to gain a few pages in the history books. Only our Grandchildren will know. In the mean time, Paul made it very clear that we are still to support those he has placed in authority over us in government. even if we disagree. If we don't like their methods and possibly, their 'madness' . promote the Vote, and wear out those knees in Prayer. The Great Commission is our calling, not the picket line.
