Program In International Human Rights Law http://www.usembassyjakarta.org/aminef/humanrights_law.html The American-Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) invites candidates from across Indonesia to submit an application for Fulbright grants for a nine-month LL.M. program in International Human Rights Law at Northwestern University's Center for International Human Rights Law. The grants will be for the academic year from September 2003 through June 2004. Prior to starting at Northwestern, candidates will first attend an intensive English-language refresher course in Indonesia and in the U.S. We intend to award between 4 and 6 grants for 2003-2004. Qualifications: * a first degree in law (S-1) * at least two years of professional experience since earning the S-1 degree as a university teaching staff member, human rights activist, or public lawyer specializing in human rights * a demonstrated commitment to and interest in human rights law * excellent English language skills (a TOEFL score of at least 550) Note: While we will consider all applications fairly, we particularly want to encourage applicants from outside Jakarta and off Java. Women are strongly encouraged to apply. Please also note that this is a short-term and very intensive program, and candidates should not expect to take family members with them to Chicago. How to apply: Candidates should complete the application forms and return them to AMINEF by November 30, 2002. Forms are available by mail or in person at the AMINEF office, Gedung Balai Pustaka, 6th floor, Jl. Gunung Sahari Raya 4, Jakarta 10720. Application forms and letter of reference form can be downloaded from the above website. In order to receive priority consideration, your completed form along with one Confidential Letter of Reference and TOEFL score should be sent to the AMINEF address above by the November 30th deadline.
