I've avoided diving into this thread as I totally agree with what Hadrian is saying here. Project charters need not be entirely precise - they are not legal contracts. Of far more importance, in my opinion, is the archives showing how the words were chosen and the actions of the committers at any given time. That being said since I've been explicitly asked to express a preference I will do so in the appropriate place. Ross
