Hi,

I'd like to submit a patch to bring exif support in, at least for saving
jpegs. This new code would use the exiv2 library, and much of the code is
borrowed from UFRaw. I'm not a C developer by any means, and this is my
first time submitting a patch to anything, but please tell me what you
think. I welcome any advice and guidance you can give.

I did something similar some time ago (search the ML). One thing you
might want to do is use exiv2 to report thing like the ISO and
aperture. Just to make sure the UI and the generated jpeg are
consistent. This also removes code duplication :-)
Well it figures that someone has already done it :-S I checked the mailing list, but I think I must have joined just after those e-mails went around, and nobody claimed the exif bug report on bugzilla (which I accepted in the meanwhile).

Where do you stand with this, Rafael? Do you have a completed patch? I'm not seeing anything, at least in trunk.

Regarding the UI, I didn't make any changes there. This is something that probably should be done, but I didn't want to make any decisions regarding the UI. Am I understanding you right, in that you are suggesting that there should be some sort of properties page on the UI so that people can see info like aperture and focal length and verify that the jpg was written correctly?

Thanks again,
Daniel
