No I have double and tripled checked to make sure it wasn’t opened. I can
import this data into Excel but because it’s a very large file with over 3
million rows of data it
will not fit on one spreadsheet other wise I would import it into a
spreadsheet then use that file to import into an RBase table.

Is the file open when you try to load? It must be closed.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - File Gateway Not Reading Source File
Hello All,
I am trying to import data from a tab-delimited format txt file. I have tried
using the File Gateway utility and the command [Gateway] at the R: prompt.
When using the utility,
it will not read the file, when it comes to the step to match source column
with target column the source is empty. When using the R: prompt I get this
error: “An error was encountered during execution. Make sure the source exists
and is not locked.”
I have checked the file with excel and note it’s not locked or corrupt. Not
sure what I am doing wrong?
Thanks
Gary Randall
