I have it happen from time to time. The server will tell all about who has the database files open.

That is what I should have had our IT people do from the start. They just cared for it. I knew it had something to do with the connections. Not being an IT person myself, I do not always start with the simple things first. I never did setup the RBASE administrator so I could do that myself. I hope our outside IT people are proficient enough to do that. I will call them to see if we can get that done. You can log into the server and see who has the database open in computer management-open files. Dan Goldberg From: rbase-l@googlegroups.com<mailto:rbase-l@googlegroups.com> [mailto:rbase-l@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Jim Belisle Sent: Monday, November 14, 2016 8:36 AM To: rbase-l@googlegroups.com<mailto:rbase-l@googlegroups.com> Subject: [RBASE-L] - RBASE locked We are using RBASE 9.5. This morning our office personnel were working in RBASE when at shortly after 9:00 central RBASE no longer allowed anyone to connect to the application. All applications target the server location. The message is Cannot start the application. [cid:image003.png@01D23E55.006F1D70] I tried connect to directly to the RBASE files with my shortcut and received this message. The database is currently unavailable – it is probably open with MULTI set OFF. [cid:image004.png@01D23E55.006F1D70] However the same backup copy of the DB on my C drive That I transferred over to the server on Friday after a rebuild has the proper MULTI settings and I can have multiple connections. I connected to the server DB with RSCOPE and ran checks on all three areas Database info, structure and Data with no errors. Some questions: 1) Is there a file RBASE creates outside of the DB anywhere on a computer that would show us errors? 2) Would there be a WINDOWS error message folder that would have this information? 3) Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try next?
