I have it happen from time to time. The server will tell all about who has the
database files open.

Thanks Dan.
That is what I should have had our IT people do from the start.
They just cared for it. I knew it had something to do with the connections.
Not being an IT person myself, I do not always start with the simple things
first.

I was thinking along that line and called to have everyone to actually shut
down the computers then restart each one.
I never did setup the RBASE administrator so I could do that myself.
I hope our outside IT people are proficient enough to do that.
I will call them to see if we can get that done.

You have to get everyone out so it will reset. You can log into the server and
see who has the database open in computer management-open files.

We are using RBASE 9.5.
This morning our office personnel were working in RBASE when at shortly after
9:00 central RBASE no longer allowed anyone to connect to the application.
All applications target the server location.
The message is Cannot start the application.

I tried connect to directly to the RBASE files with my shortcut and received
this message.
The database is currently unavailable – it is probably open with MULTI set OFF.

However the same backup copy of the DB on my C drive That I transferred over to
the server on Friday after a rebuild has the proper MULTI settings and I can
have multiple connections. I connected to the server DB with RSCOPE and ran
checks on all three areas Database info, structure and Data with no errors.

Some questions:

1) Is there a file RBASE creates outside of the DB anywhere on a computer
that would show us errors?

2) Would there be a WINDOWS error message folder that would have this
information?

3) Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try next?
